Simple question, simple answer… who plays well in Texas? Texans!

The key to this week’s fantasy golf picks is to pick those folks from the good ole stateof Texas. Those that hitt it low enough to escape the wind and straght enough to miss the cabbage.

Top picks from this week are the Top Texan combo of Campbell and Leonard, closely followed by Estes and Verplank. All of these fellows are looking for the home field advantage this week and I’d be shocked if at least one of them doesn’t find it.

The rest of the field is pretty weak and you could argue that Anthony Kim is the “headliner” .. which says something being that he hasn’t sniffed a Top-10 finish since the Mercedes in January.

Zach Johnson is possibly the most in-form player in the field, and as defending champion he has to be given some serious consideration, so either start him, or like me, put him on your bench behind the locals (after all, I only have 4 picks left for young Zack).

Good luck all… and remember, never change your picks prior to the end of Friday’s round, Thursday performance is never a good indicator of a Friday score and folks that start slow, often bounce back on Friday.

Welcome

Having hosted a Yahoo Fantasy Golf league for eight years now, I was getting a bit tired of posting my ramblings on the group home page and thought I’d start my own blog.

Here is my Fantasy Golf Resume:

2001 – 98% (percentile rank on Yahoo)

2002 – 96%

2003 – 96%

2004 – 96%

2005 – 99%

2006 – 98%

2007 – 99%

2008 – 97%

2009 – 99% (Currently in 126th place overall)

The league has grown from 6 to 18 competitors (16 this year) and I have won it 5 out of 8 years. So you could say I’ve spent Way too much of my life playing this game.

Daimon BridgeWelcome to my Blog!

My name is Daimon Bridge and I am a happily married father of two, residing in Atlanta, GA, USA.

I was born and raised in Kent, England and have been a devoted golfer and  West Ham fan since I can remember. Following golf in the USA is fantastic, and the growth of HD coverage makes it even more enjoyable to watch on a weekly basis (what happened to the European Tour anyway? Do they still play?). While it’s trickier to keep up with English sportsfrom the other side of the pond I stay up to date by reading the English newspapers (The Telegraph, The Mirror and The Sun) and am a huge fan of Iain Dale’s blog West Ham Til I Die.

On the professional side, I attained my MBA from Charletson Southern University in 1998 and have since worked in various marketing and product management roles for CheckFree (FiServ), ChoicePoint (Lexis-Nexis), Web.com (Website Pro’s), and Equifax. I currently work for Reed Construction Data in Atlanta, GA, where I am responsible for the RSMeans line of cost estimation related products and services.

I look forward to using this blog to talk my trials and tribulations as a certified Yahoo Fantasy Golf addict, along with my annual goal of beating Yahoo’s resident writer and”Expert” Greg Vara (Rotowire).
